The text is that of Rite I use (thus My soul doth magnify the Lord).

- Veni Redemptor gentium (2004) for SATB chorus, organ, and

This work incorporates settings of "Veni Redemptor gentium" by Samuel
Scheidt and "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland" by Melchior Vulpius and
Johann Sebastian Bach. Men sing the original chant "Veni Redemptor gentium"
(in Latin) and women the chorale melody "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland"
(in German). All voices come together at the end and sing the chorale "Nun
komm, der Heiden Heiland" (in English) as harmonized by Johann Sebastian
Bach. This setting, appropriate for Advent, is approachable by parish and
cathedral choirs alike but requires an organist with skill.
